I really enjoy the 1995 version, with all its rights and wrongs. I think it would be very interesting to listen to the director’s views and reasons. And his great experience in directing quality period dramas will ensure, I think, a very interesting presentation. Willl you be able to go Julie?

Sadly, no,I have other engagements that week, which will prevent me going, but I agree it would be fascinating to hear Simon Langton talk.I adored his Jeeves and Wooster series( much better than the recent appalling series adapted from P G Wodehouse’s books, Blandings *shudder*).

Bother! I will be traveling England a month too late! I arrive May 20th. “This is always my luck. If there is any thing ‘agreeable’ going on”…I won’t be in the country!

I first became acquainted with Simon Langton’s work watching Upstairs, Downstairs” in the ’70′s. That’s where I learned to watch anything he directed; he’s quite wonderful! I would really enjoy this, I’m sure, and I’m sorry I can’t go, and also sorry to hear you can’t either. (Absolutely LOVED Jeeves and Wooster</I. Bought the books, my friend bought the series; YAY for Hugh Laurie!) I trust we'll get a report from one of your compatriots…?

Perhaps. I think its an inspired choice for an evening entertainment, to be honest.I’m sad I won’t be there.
