How wonderful a post. Am re-reading the letters yet again, and each time I read them differently, more information stands out. These posts a great to read at the same time, adding to the picture. I despair of ever knowing enough about her life though, there is just so much to it!!

I agree with Caitlin; it IS a beautiful house. But then, I’m partial to the Georgian style. :-) It must be delightful to BE in a room where we KNOW Jane Austen danced, knowing that she loved dancing as much as she seems to have. And it must be even more wonderful to BE in the Jane Austen House Musem in Chawton, where she WROTE! Looking forward to more of your nre mini-series, thank you, Julie!

What a beautiful house! Interesting to find that Rev. Lefroy put so much expense into remodeling the exterior of the home. It must have been quite lovely on the inside as well. Like the contrasting of Mrs. Lefroy and Mrs. Elton. Looking forward to reading more about this special friendship…
