Yes, it is at least a way of formalizing the JA connection, and maybe protects it in a way, better than closed. Great the plaque is there too, thanks Julie for this update.

It’s probably the best solution for the time being. As I understand the situation,,there will be more emphasis put on the Jane Austen connection by the Worthing Heritage Alliance, and there will probably be a “trail” visitors to the town can follow.

I do understand their concern over safety issues, and think they should rearrange their coach traffic to accomodate safe access to the twitten. In your previous post, you did not mention if their are Austen guded or unguided walks available. As a national company, they could organize packages to the town, and buddy up with a number of local businesses to promote ( and profit) from the JA connection. I think if it was access to a link to one of her more famous novels something like htis would already be in existence.It is good to know they will allow prearranged access to the site – just hope they don’t change their minds.
